04/11/08 - Georgia and Rumba the Wonder Horse present the Melbourne Cup
The RACV invited equestrian medalists from the 2008 Paralympics and Olympics to Present the Melbourne Cup on Melbourne Cup Day.
The Melbourne Cup had toured around Australia, before finally completing its journey by being carried down the straight Megan Jones. Megan was joined by other Olympic Eventing Medalists
Shane Rose and Sonjia Johnson, as well as Georgia Bruce and her horse Rumba the Wonder Horse. The Snowy Mountain Stock Riders also carried flags as they all cantered down the famous straight immediately before the famous race on Melbourne Cup Day.
Who would have thought that Rumba, a quarter horse, born in Speewah, Far North Queensland would join the ranks of equine legends to have travelled down this famous racetrack.
There was also a rehearsal the day before.
